I think pre-marital counseling is an excellent idea. If this is the first time you have seen his anger that is amazing though. People often say things out of anger that they do not mean. I know that is no consolation since his comments were hurtful and done in such a public manner. Remember that he is under a tremendous amount of pressure too, and some people lash out at the ones they love the most. Not only is he getting a ready made family, he is getting a wife, and a newborn as well. That is a tall order, but nothing excuses his behavior. If he truly loves you as much as you love him, he will be willing to RUN to a counselor!! Good Luck Jen!!

My heart aches for you and those sweet, wonderful, beautiful children too. HE is definitely the one missing out. You have AMAZING children. I personally can't wait to see them all again (and you too of course)! Hopefully he'll realize his mistakes and make up for lost time before it's too late.

How about traditions??? One your Mom did for you and now that you do for them. Knowing kids she probably was most worried about continuing to receive the presents! haha! My neice and nephews pretended to believe for the past few years because they thought they wouldn't get presents if their Mom knew they knew!

ahh! I wish he would give it a rest already! To me, he just seemed like he wanted to be the center of the show...and now that he's not even a part of the show, he's getting all emotional. PFT! Stand your ground (like always). Hopefully he'll realize how miserable he made everyone and just get his act together so that you guys can eventually be friends and he can be consistent for the kiddos! Love you Jen!

All I can say is sometimes emotional abuse is worse than physical abuse. I was emotionally abused as a child and sometimes physically and it still affects me today. I vowed to never treat my kids the way my parents did me. God calls us to love everyone, including our enemies, which I constantly struggle with. Hopefully your mom can walk away from this man before his abuse gets to be too much that she starts to believe all the harmful things he says to her.

I am really sorry that he is doing this to your children. He really doesn't understand the long term stress he is putting on her. A girl of her age does not need to be worrying about adult problems. I really hope he stops, for her own good.

Yeah, after talking to my own mother she said the same thing! My parents were very affectionate. I cannot wrap my mind around not hugging and kissing my kids multiple times a day, at least until they can run or push me away! It's sad that not all people experience that.
